The reel seat is all-cork under a downlocking aluminum screwlock with a pocket cap
Most Orvis rods tend to do better with a line size or two down
The aluminum reel foot is a replacement and therefore is not stamped with a serial number

HL Leonard Duracane Bamboo Fly Rod 6'6" 2/2 #4 10' whomever wrapped the rod appearsAn HL Leonard Duracane bamboo fly rod, 6'6", 2 piece, 2 tips, and built for a #4 line. Serial #2655 with an approximate manufacture date of the early 1970's. The rod weighs 2. 4 ounces on my scale. Very lightly used condition, with no cosmetic cracks to the ferrule wraps, no grip soiling, but there is a tiny bit of brassing to the inner snake guides, a bit of wear on the ferrule welt, and some oxidation that's rubbed off on the corner of the pocket
