Taking the core rules of Magic, and slightly tweaking the rules really opens up the game to a whole world of deck types, crazy combos and otherwise useless cards seeing a tonne of play
This effect can be made even better by including self-milling effects like dredge to help fill your graveyard
Its pretty common to play this on turn three before you play your land for the turn to ensure it works, and it can contribute a fair bit of damage in the early turns, too
