The card is very good, and its probably seeing Constructed play, so I wouldnt be surprised if the prices went up

Unfortunately for Apprentice Wizard, colored mana is infinitely more important than colorless mana when ramping, so having to sacrifice it to net less versatile mana isnt what a lot of decks want to be doing in Commander

Or how about Summon: Choco/Mog, which is an uncommon and will therefore show up far more frequently in Limited play

This ultimately forces a continual tax upon opponents that drains them of available land while providing the controller with additional mana resources
